Sustainability

Local

We are a female-founded business that chooses to support other local businesses and ethical growers.

Our close proximity to the Great Dividing Range gives Brisbane the perfect mix of climates to locally grow many of the most popular flower varieties such as orchids, hydrangeas, roses, lilies and dahlias.

The Australian floristry industry refers to ‘local’ as anything grown within Australia, but the flowers may have been transported by plane or road freight from as far as major growing regions in Western Australia, the Blue Mountains, Gippsland or the Highlands in Victoria and Tamar Valley in Tasmania.

Buying “Australian local” is still a superior choice both ethically and the quality of your blooms - please take a moment to read about the international flower trade (The real cost of a rose: Inside the billion-dollar global flower industry - ABC News) which is what you’ll find available mostly in supermarkets and petrol stations.

From the Sunshine Coast hinterland, through to the Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Karalee, Redlands, the Granite Belt and down to the Northern Rivers hinterland we aim to have truly ‘local’ flowers, even some of our foliage is grown just down the road one suburb away!

Sustainable

We have a commitment to environmentally sustainable practices and aim to avoid floral foam and plastic packaging in our products. Our beautifully designed keepsake hatbox packaging and carefully selected vase range are designed to be loved and enjoyed for years to come.

Please consider adding on a vase at check out or feel free to bring in your own vessel for a custom arrangement. Our home in the iconic Camp Hill Antique Centre is the perfect place to find a unique piece for your home or gifting and it has the added sustainable bragging rights!

We choose to separate our green waste, soft plastics, cardboard and general recycling and only buy what we need each day.

Our power at the Camp Hill Antique Centre is provided by solar panels up to 80 per cent to reduce our environmental impact. You can read more about this initiative on the Camp Hill Antique Centre website

Quality

Shopping seasonally and locally is the best way to ensure the freshest blooms and we are committed to supporting local Queensland growers and Australian businesses who share our environmental practices.
